Hi Tony - A Question about VirtueDesktops

Some things,

1) I'm aware that you don't support VirtueDesktops at all any more. That said, I have recently purchased a license for Hyperspaces, so I'd hope that you can give your thoughts on a problem that I am having.
2) Thank you so much for developing VD. I use it for running multiple instances (6+) of an MMORPG. To play all of the different characters optimally, you are constantly switching back and forth between them. The speed of desktop switching in VD is so vastly superior to Spaces (and Hyperspaces) that it actually brings a tear to my eye.
3) For all those who weren't aware, It is possible to get VD working in 10.6 by:
Right clicking the app --> Get Info --> Check "Open using Rosetta"

A question,

The following AppleScript works properly:

tell application "VirtueDesktops"
   show desktop "2"
end tell

However, the following AppleScript does not:

tell application "VirtueDesktops"
   shift "Firefox" to desktop "2"
end tell

How do I formulate a correct shift command?

Thanks,
James

Hi James, I'm reasonably certain that even though it appears that Virtue is working, it's probably throwing errors all over the place in the background. Even if you get the AppleScript right, I don't think that this will work under Snow Leopard (or Leopard). Most of Virtue's more advanced functions relied on injecting a code bundle into the Dock process — this wasn't updated for 10.5/10.6, so it really doesn't work (and therefore isn't capable of actually doing what you're asking it to do).

Your usage of the shift keyword is correct, so it's not you, it's Virtue.

Sorry, you're not the first person to have an "Awesome! Virtue works OK under 10.5+" moment :(
